About

The BFC is looking for a well-rounded PR Executive to join the team and work on UK & international press relations. 

Responsibilities

Business Skills

  • Assistance in the creation of a global BFC media strategy to sell in stories throughout the year to promote British fashion on the global stage
  • Capability to work across the full portfolio of BFC events and campaigns to drive international awareness, attendance and press coverage
  • Relationship management of global media contacts, agencies, agents, VIP, PRs and designers
  • Strong knowledge of UK and International media titles, publishing houses and agencies, well connected with exceptional communication skills
  • Management and development of interns and support of freelancers and assistants during BFC associated events and as required
  • Main point of contact for PR and media communications internally across the BFC departments
  • Delivering individual tasks whilst maintaining focus on overall objectives
  • Demonstrating best practice in managing communications and quality standards
  • Drives best practice behaviours and works as a team to meet BFC’s objectives to maintain integrity and reputation

 Expertise Skills

  • Management & development of the BFC CRM database of UK and international press contacts including data input, amendments, accuracy and reporting
  • Assistance in the development of media partnerships with BFC initiatives including NEWGEN, Positive Fashion, Fashion Arts Foundation and IFS
  • Day to day running of BFC press office across the BFC portfolio of events to international media, broadcasters, agencies, influencers and VIPs
  • Securing press coverage with key media including internationals, nationals, regionals, supplements, glossies, on-line, broadcasters, radio etc.
  • Management and maintenance of VIP BFC International Guest Programme including budgeting, guest selection, invitation and co-ordination including hotel and car allocation plus entertainment during attendance and seasonal reporting
  • Design and development of the BFC Ambassador program to cement long term relationships with digital influencers, talent and ambassadors in key territories
  • Report & presentation creation and cross-functional collaboration to create data, evaluation and documentation for government and governmental bodies, BFC board, Patrons, retailers, sponsors and internal teams for all BFC events displaying seasonal, yearly comparisons and ROI measurement
  • Drafting, editing and distribution of all press releases and press collateral as well as meeting notices, presentations and post event wrap up reports 
  • Delivery and publication of events, not limited to LFW, LFWM, LFWF, LsR, government initiatives, press committee meetings, Fashion Fund & Fashion Forum including guest list creation, door handling and VIP liaison 
  • Management and accuracy of BFC Media & PR budget
  • Management and organisation of BFC Media & PR team critical path calendars and project management timelines
  • Pro-actively seeking and maintaining relationships with press through meetings, trade shows, events & networking
  • Ownership and ongoing delivery of media monitoring, tracking coverage in BFC key territories of US, Asia and Europe, providing yearly and seasonal exporting and ROI measurement

Maintain and develop positive and strong working relationships with:

  • UK & International press, media channels, broadcasters & digital platforms
  • BFC patrons, sponsors, consultants, PR agencies and designers, Head of Media & Retail, Communications team, Marketing, Sponsorship, Showcasing and Events, BFC sponsors, patrons, ambassadors, celebrities, influencers, agents and stylists

  • Strong contacts with UK and international editors, influencers and talent agents
  • Well respected amongst peers and wider industry
  • Knowledge of British and international designers
  • Knowledge of global economic media landscape and the impact of digital
  • Graduate with 3 years public relations experience essential
  • Event management experience preferred
  • Pro-active and sociable
  • Database/CRM knowledge or experience

Salary & Benefits

  • Job type: full time, permanent
  • Salary Band: £TBC - £TBC, dependant on experience
  • Standard company benefits, including 25 days annual holiday
  • Standard company working hours, flexibility required during events, exhibitions, etc.
  • Confirmation of appointment and eligibility to benefits, subject to successful completion of a 3 month probationary period 
  • This salary is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This is due to the BFC being a recipient of ERDF funds and as such employees are required to keep a record, via monthly time sheets, of the work undertaken relating to ERDF funded activities
