Eligibility:
- Designers must currently show on-schedule at London Fashion Week and have either received New Gen funding within the last three years or be at a similar stage in their business development.
- Businesses should have a turnover between £100,000 and £1,000,000 although other businesses may be considered in exceptional circumstances
- Applicants must have a UK based business but do not have to be British
Application process:
Applications for autumn/winter 2010 are now closed.
Applicants were invited to submit an application form, diversity monitoring form and the following to the BFC:
- Short-term and long-term business goals and objectives
- An overview of your existing business including
- Current organisational structure (employees and roles)
- Consultants, outside advisors and professional organisation that you are currently working with
- Your current brand positioning and where you envision your brand in the future
- Last set of audited accounts and projection for current financial year.
All financial and business information provided to the BFC will be kept strictly confidential and will only be used in connection with the selection process and will not be used by any of the judging committee outside the selection process.
- A portfolio presentation containing work from your Spring/Summer 10 collections which may include sketches, photos, editorial images, advertisements and/or videos
- The names and contact information for 3 referees (editors, retailers, fashion industry professionals or business executives with whom you have a close working relationship). These contacts will be provided for potential consultation in connection with your application.
Judging Process
Selection
- Application information submitted above will be considered for shortlisting
- Those shortlisted will be invited to an interview day
- The winners will be announced on 20th January 2010. All those shortlisted must be available to attend the event on 20th January 2010.
Additional Information
- Recipients of BFC Fashion Forward support are chosen by an independent selection panel of media, buyers and sponsors, which may change each season.
- The BFC Fashion Forward panel is there in an advisory capacity only.
