Retailers Celebrating LFW
Some of Britain’s most established retailers are joining the celebration of London Fashion Week this season by hosting special events and promotions in-store and online.

The Oxford Street Fashion Showcase and RIBA Regent Street Windows Project are also joining the festivity by partnering with London Fashion Week to promote British creativity to the capital.

Many stores have pledged their support from Harrods, Selfridges and Liberty to Warehouse, River Island and Topshop with a series of curated events taking place throughout September. Other retailers are featuring the London Fashion Week logo in specially commissioned window installations. Read on for further details.

ALLSAINTS

ALLSAINTS will be celebrating London Fashion Week this season with a special window display in their Regent Street store.

AQUASCUTUM

This is the fifth year that the Regent Street Windows Project has matched architects with London retailers to create bespoke window installations. Aquascutum are hosting one of the fifteen displays in collaboration with vPPR Architects as part of RIBA Regent Street Windows Project 2014.

vPPR Architects have created a spectacular backdrop of moving clouds for the display of Aquascutum's iconic trench coats. Recalling Turner's expansive radiant skies, vPPR's visually striking installation will celebrate Britain's overcast weather with animated clouds and splashes of autumnal tones, matched to Aquascutum's latest season's colours. The installation is achieved through the optical effects of lenticular printing and is strongly dynamic as shoppers pass by in the street, catching their eye.

BANANA REPUBLIC

Make Architects’ window installation for Banana Republic's London Flagship store on Regent Street unifies the brand’s key themes for the Autumn/Winter collection in another collaboration forming part of RIBA Regent Street Windows Project 2014. Through the use of an optical illusion, a dynamic three-dimensional window display is created that engages the passer-by.

BEYOND RETRO

Beyond Retro will be supporting LFW with a range of talks in-store, LFW-themed window displays and other events.

BLOOMINGDALES

Bloomingdales will be live streaming shows from London Fashion Week to their store in New York.

BOOTS

Sunday 14th September, 12-2pm - Get your skin up to speed for the colder months and find out about the science behind No.7 and Clinique with fabulous beauty experiences at Boots as part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase. Clinique will introduce you to the Smart Skin Experts behind their latest skin revolution: the Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush. You can also enter the prize draw at Boots Sedley Place, Oxford Street to win a Clinique Hamper. There are only 60 spaces available so sign up while you can!

Sunday 14th September, 3-5pm - If you’re a fan of No.7, this little gem will be right up your street. Here you can meet the brains behind the clinically proven Protect and Perfect Serums. Join them in store for a free skincare consultation or Colour Match made service at Boots Sedley Place, Oxford Street.

BROOKS BROTHERS

In another architectural installation forming part of RIBA Regent Street Windows Project 2014, Squire and Partners’ installation for Brooks Brothers draws on the historical brand reference of the Golden Fleece as a symbol of world trade, natural raw textile and the company’s trademark since 1850. A crafted sculpture comprised of a thousand handmade sheep suspended on golden threads illustrate the immaculate detailing of a Brooks Brothers product, whilst a cast bronze sheep - created by British sculptor Jonathan Sanders - grazes nearby providing an element of playfulness and interaction.

BROWNS

Browns will be celebrating London Fashion Week this season with window displays in their Sloane Street and South Molton Street stores.

CAROLINE CHARLES

Caroline Charles will be joining the citywide celebration of London Fashion Week with a special window display in their Beauchamp Place store.

The AW14 collection combines sharp tailoring in vibrant colours inspired by South America in British tweeds and French wools. Animal prints and the classic Caroline Charles dogtooth check are featured on signature pieces including tie bow blouses, wool crepe frill skirts, cropped pants and Italian printed silk dresses. New to the collection are luxe hand-knits supporting women’s co-operatives.

COAST


Friday 19th September, 3-5pm - To celebrate London Fashion Week SS15 and as part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase, Coast is giving you the chance to attend a one-on-one style clinic with Creative Director, Neil Hendy, or Head of Design, Kim Elliot. One lucky winner and a friend will not only have the chance to spend an hour with their choice of director, but will also win £200 each to spend in-store. CUTLER AND GROSS

Cutler and Gross are collaborating with Holly Fulton and GILES for SS15 and will be celebrating London Fashion Week with in-store displays and online promotions.

DAKS

DAKS will be celebrating London Fashion Week with special window installations in their Bond Street store this month.

DESIGN MUSEUM

The Design Museum with be celebrating London Fashion Week and their upcoming exhibition ‘Women, Fashion, Power’ with dedicated window displays from Friday, 5th September onwards.

EVANS

Tuesday 16th September, 8pm - Be the first to watch 'The Design Collective for Evans' catwalk show from the window of Evans' flagship store in Marble Arch. Join them at 8pm on the 16th September to catch this exclusive fashion revelation as part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase.

FEATHERS

Feathers will be celebrating London Fashion Week with window vinyl in their Knightsbridge store this season.

FOLLI FOLLIE

The RIBA Regent Street Windows Project 2014 sees another architect/retailer collaboration with Denizen Works and Folli Follie. Denizen’s installation, titled ‘I see...Folli Follie’, is based on best-selling Folli Follie pieces set in resin as a collection frozen in time and representing the success, both past and future, of the brand. In one window the architects will create an orange resin representing amber and the best-selling collection. In the other window the architects create display pieces from the new collection set in a ‘crystal’ ball looking into the future.

FOREVER 21

Forever 21 are celebrating London Fashion Week SS15 in their Oxford Street store windows.

FRENCH CONNECTION

Saturday 13th September, 3pm - Get in the party mood for London Fashion Week at French Connection with a live DJ set by MTV’s Becca Dudley.

There will also be a huge consumer event in French Connection’s flagship store on Oxford Street as part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase with complimentary makeovers for customers and a chance to meet Troy, the star of their AW14 campaign.

G STAR

Thursday 18th September, 3-4.30pm - As part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase, get an exclusive sneak peek into the story behind G Star Raw’s Raw for the Ocean project and collaboration with Pharrell Williams – a man known for his amazing style as much as his music. The collection will then be available to try on whilst sipping on G Star Raw’s very own champagne. Plus, it wouldn’t be a celebration of G Star Raw’s collaboration with Pharrell without the chance to win a pair of tickets for his October concert at the O2 Arena.

GANT

GANT are hosting another of the fifteen window installations that form the Regent Street Windows Project, in collaboration with Sybarite Architects.

Sybarite Architects have been inspired and influenced by GANT’s heritage, seeking to enthuse GANT’s windows with Sybarite’s luxurious philosophy. Initial inspiration was drawn from the hull of a boat which the practice morphed into a sculptural form to showcase an emerging human figure. The architects then harnessed this unique marriage between an architecture practice and lifestyle brand by focusing on sculptural, architectural design far removed from the typical window display.

GAP

Friday 12th September, 12-6pm - Head into the store between 12th and 14th September from 12pm until 6pm to celebrate London Fashion Week at GAP as part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase. Here you can join ‘jeans for you to complicate’ workshops and receive a free denim distressing kit when you buy denim on the day, letting you put your new found skills to practice. There will also be a photobooth, enabling you to show off your creations to friends and family.

Saturday 13th September, 2pm - On Saturday 13th at 2pm you’ll have a chance to hear Lisa from Sew Over it; the one stop shop for all things sewing. Lisa will be talking about her journey from design to the craft that is sewing, her amazing business, the history of personalisation and why it is so important to people today. She will also touch on the denim heritage of Gap and give her top tips on how to achieve great personalisation.

HACKETT

As part of the Regent Street Windows Project, Jerry Tate Architects are creating a giant, moving Jacobs Ladder for Hackett's two shop windows, based on a traditional timber and ribbon children's toy. Held in place at one end and woven by an intricate arrangement of interlaced ribbons, the ladder works by rotating the top block- setting off a tumbling effect as each block flips over the next to reveal a hidden image on the reverse side of the ladder. The toppling motion itself creating the visual illusion of a flickering, falling picture. JTA will use this form of moving toy to produce two large cascading pixelated collages, a dancing, glittering image to catch the attention of shoppers as they pass by.

HARRODS

Harrods will be celebrating London Fashion Week SS15 with a window installation and in-store promotion of British designer collections.

HOBBS

Donald Insall Associates are working in collaboration with Hobbs for the RIBA Regent Street Windows Project 2014, creating an architectural installation which responds to both Regent Street’s rich history and modern regeneration. As part of Regent Street’s ongoing regeneration the block will be clad in scaffolding over the Autumn / Winter 2014 fashion season as the historic façade is meticulously cleaned and restored. Donald Insall’s concept demonstrates it’s ‘business as usual’ for Hobbs. The architects have artfully reflected Hobbs’ rich history and British design with a photographic montage recreating Regent Street and Hobbs’ proud history. They have playfully contrasted this by bringing the scaffolding through the windows to invite the shopper inside.

HOUSE OF FRASER

Friday 12th September, 6.30pm – Head in-store for a meet and greet with Jasmine Guinness to celebrate the launch of House of Fraser’s journalism competition as part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase.

House of Fraser is launching a social media competition giving you the chance to get up close and personal in an interview with celebrity and fashion icon, Jasmine Guinness. The winner, chosen by an expert judging panel, will be mentored by the in-house PR team in the run up to the interview, to be held in one of House of Fraser’s luxury personal shopping suites on Friday 19th September at 1pm. After the interview, Jasmine Guinness will take part in a Q&A session on the shop floor for fans and fashion enthusiasts.

ILLY

Founded in Trieste, Italy in 1933, iIly have passionately and prodigiously invented, developed and refined every single detail from bean to cup in their pursuit of the art of coffee. The installation for the RIBA Regent Street Windows Project 2014 by Raw Architecture Workshop broadcasts and emphasises the time, energy and effort that has gone into each and every illy espresso. It takes just 10 seconds to produce the perfect espresso. Ten seconds are synonymous with countdowns.  Countdowns evoke feelings of interest, anticipation and excitement, culminating in a momentous event. RAW will use scale, movement, colour and light to create a piece of kinetic digital art which marks and celebrates the culmination of 81 years of illy, in 10 seconds. The event at the end of the countdown? You’ll have to wait and see...

JACK SPADE

Keen to draw inspiration from Jack Spade's strong and iconic New York heritage, Mobile Studio creates a surreal installation of 'a city within a city' for Jack Spade’s store front on Brewer Street for the RIBA Regent Street Windows Project 2014. The windows will be transformed into a miniaturised world 'bridging New York and London'. The fully-interactive departure display will be rich with animated narratives, packed with colourful characters and architectural motifs, jackets, shirts, bags and other brand products, all of which will twist and turn to captivate visitors for a closer look.

JIGSAW

Jigsaw will be launching their AW14 Windows to coincide with London Fashion Week this season.

John lewis

Friday 12th September, 9.30am-8pm – To make sure you stay on top of all things beauty this London Fashion Week, John Lewis will be hosting 8 days of activity in an exclusive bespoke area within their Beauty Department created just for the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase. Seven of the best loved brands; Clarins, Liz Earle, Japaonesque, Origins, YSL, DIOR and Philip Kingsley will present demonstrations, master classes and talks of their most iconic, leading and innovative and exclusive products. There will also be a men’s focus day and if you’re feeling lucky when you shop in the beauty department during the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase  you can enter into a prize draw for the chance to win one of two bespoke shopping experiences including a treatment in store, personal shopping appointment and £2,000 gift vouchers!

Friday 19th September, 3pm - Join John Lewis for a style seminar with Amanda Seabourne, Co-Founder and Managing Director of ‘Damsel in a Dress’ on Friday 19 September. Head to this event for insider information on the new AW14 collection and how to be the belle of every ball.

KAREN MILLEN

Throughout September all 25 metres of Karen Millen’s Regent Street store façade will be home to EKM Works installation ‘Grace’, inspired by Karen Millen’s Autumn/Winter 14 campaign for the RIBA Regent Street Windows Project 2014. Grace brings the Karen Millen woman to life and is an evocative snapshot of the energy and character of the location surrounding Karen Millen’s Shoreditch atelier in London’s East End. 3D scanned mannequins were animated, sliced and projected to generate a feeling of dynamic movement and to mirror the day-to-day adventures of Karen Millen’s modern, urban muse.

L’OCCITANE

The Immortelle from L’Occitane, organically grown in Corsican fields, is known as the everlasting flower; never fading, even after being picked. This flower, full of folklore, is unique for its anti-ageing properties, making its essential oil a very precious elixir. Inspired by the dramatic terrain of Corsica, habitat of the Immortelle flower used by L’Occitane in its premium skincare collections, architecture practice Emulsion have created a landscape of delicate geometric layers glorifying and revealing glimpses of a new Immortelle product, alluding to the flower in its natural environment. The exclusive launch preview coincides with the RIBA Regent Street Windows Project 2014.

LIBERTY

Liberty are celebrating London Fashion Week with a window installation featuring on-schedule London Fashion Week designers.

LONGCHAMP

Architect Brisac Gonzalez’s display for Longchamp for the Regent Street Windows Project 2014 consists of an array of rectilinear translucent frames that create a series of hollows with a fleeting iceberg-like quality. The newly launched Longchamp leather bags in carmine red, tan and dark mauve will reside within three of the largest cocoon-like cavities that gently taper. The surrounding mirrored surfaces refract the exquisite colours and sublime lines of the bags, as well as the many onlookers and passers-by along Regent Street.

LULU GUINNESS

Lulu Guiness will be celebrating this season’s London Fashion Week with window vinyl in their Ellis Street store.

MANGO

Thursday 18th September, 11am - Want to know more about the story behind Mango? As part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase, hear Country Manager Karen Little talk you through the history of Mango, including how the co-owners brought this amazing Spanish brand to life. Plus you could bag a stylish new job as you will be given the opportunity to leave your CV and covering letter for various opportunities of all levels and departments within Mango.

MASSIMO DUTTI

Massimo Dutti will be celebrating London Fashion Week with window displays in their Regent Street store running throughout September.

MISS SELFRIDGE

Sunday 14th September, 4.30-6pm - As part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase, don’t miss MTV presenter Laura Whitmore at Miss Selfridge. RSVP for the chance to be a part of the exclusive styling session with an insight into Laura’s celebrated style.

Wednesday 17th September, 6pm - Join Miss Selfridge Brand Director Yasmin Yusuf as she talks you through the inspirations, design process and the secrets of what goes into creating their signature ranges. Plus be one of the first to see the new collection for Christmas launching exclusively at its Oxford Circus flagship store ahead of the nationwide launch in October.

NEW LOOK

Wednesday 17th September, 6-8pm - New Look has partnered with Glamour to host the ultimate autumn forecast style clinic to ensure you will stay fashion savvy and on top of the trends, come rain or shine. As part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase, you will be welcomed into the world of New Look's new season collection as Glamour puts together autumn looks for men and women, share hero lines and pick out personal faves. There will be goody bags up for grabs plus a chance to win your dream autumn wardrobe.

OASIS

Friday 12th September, 9-10am – Start your day with an early bird morning tea at Oasis, as you join award winning ceramic designer Peter Ting & Oasis Senior Designer Kate Sawdon in conversation for the launch of Flutter by Peter Ting for Oasis as part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase.

ORLA KIELY

Orla Kiely will be joining the celebration of London as a fashion capital this season with feature window installations around town.

PANDORA

Thursday 18th September, 6-8pm – Join the Harpers Bazaar Retail Editor Jo Glynn in the Pandora Lounge as part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase.

PENHALIGON’S

Al-Jawad Pike’s window installation for Penhaligon’s, as part of the Regent Street Windows Project 2014, draws on the rich history of perfume making and its origins in distillation and chemistry. Inspired both by the evocative fragrances and the raw ingredients from which they are extracted, Al-Jawad Pike are creating a labyrinthine construction of blown glassware, held within a three-dimensional lattice of copper pipe. The glass vessels will contain the raw ingredients of Penhaligon’s thirty two fragrances while the copper references the first ambelic retorts and other distillation apparatus that were historically used in perfume making.

PHASE EIGHT

Phase Eight will be celebrating London Fashion Week SS15 with window displays across the UK and special promotions on Facebook.

PRIMARK

Wednesday 17th September, 6-7.30pm - As part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase, hangout with Primark at an exclusive Q&A session at a secret London location. Each guest will receive an amazing Primark goody bag full of AW14 treats and a £100 gift card to spend in either of the Oxford Street stores at Marble Arch and Tottenham Court Road.

PULL&BEAR

PULL&BEAR will be celebrating London Fashion Week this season with window installations in their Oxford Street store.

REISS

To celebrate London Fashion Week SS15, Reiss will be installing the official logo in their Oxford Street store.

RIVER ISLAND

Wednesday 17th September, 5-6pm - River Island will be hosting a competition for 2 customers to win the chance to receive a £500 shopping spree with its secret ambassador and it’s in-store styling team at the flagship Park House storein London as part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase. The ambassador will take the winners through the latest AW14 trends and a complimentary tote bag will be given out to visitors on the night.

SELFRIDGES

Sunday 14th September, 4.15pm - As part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase, bag one of three pairs of tickets to view the Advanced Style showing at Selfridges’ Everyman cinema. Start London

Celebrating London Fashion Week with a special window installation showcasing the best of British fashion with designer collections including Sophie Hulme, Mawi, Sophia Webster, Bella Freud and Maria Grachvogal.

THE BODY SHOP

Tuesday 16th September, 11am-3pm - As part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase, get to know The Body Shop’s latest products to drop this autumn during intimate sessions with its expert beauty consultants. Head down to the store where they’ll share beauty tips, give you a makeover and explore new products such as Colour Crush Nails and the new Drops of Youth Eye.

THE MAY FAIR

Saturday 13th September, 4pm - Chat it up with fashion aficionado and editor Caroline Issa at The May Fair hotel as part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase. This five star luxury venue is the Official Hotel for London Fashion Week, so expect no less than stylish surroundings and a fashion- focused Talk and Q&A, drawing on Caroline’s industry experience and her incredible rise from editor to a leading member of the fashion pack.

The May Fair is also collaborating with Mother of Pearl on a special London Fashion Week window installation, taking over all of their windows facing onto Stratton Street with a specially-designed floral print.

TIBITS

Tibits award-winning vegetarian restaurant, located on Heddon Street, employs a ‘pay by the weight’ food concept to encourage self-awareness of consumption and reduce waste. As part of the RIBA Regent Street Windows Project 2014, architectural practice Edgley Design have embraced this spirit by reusing waste products from the restaurant for their installation. Empty glass wine bottles, are creatively re-imagined to form something new and beautiful. Reinforcing tibits weight concept, and the idea of cooking using heat to transform ingredients, the glass bottles are melted and then re-cast in the form of cooking weights, each glass cast representing the weight of an average tibits meal. These glass weights are then suspended on a grid of steel cables to create a shimmering array which animates the shop window, enticing people into the restaurant from the street.

TOPSHOP

Monday 15th September, 6-7pm - Following its coveted SS15 Unique show you’ll have a chance to head into the Topshop flagship store to join Laura Jackson for an intimate styling session as part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase. The presenter will dish out tips on how to get the catwalk look and replicate outfits from the Topshop autumn collection. Topshop will be hosting London Fashion Week activity in 214 Oxford Street from Friday 12th September all the way through to the 16th.

Also taking part in the Regent Street Windows Project 2014, Topshop’s Regent Street store is situated at the crossroads of Regent Street and Oxford Street - one of the busiest and most bustling locations in London. More than 80 million people a year pass through this intersection. Architecture practice Atmos invited this river of humanity to carve a new pattern through the Great Portland stone of Topshop’s building. In their installation, the window plinths melt into molten shapes that ooze and flow into furniture, transforming into long benches that invite the visitor to rest amidst the restlessness. The ranks of seats create a rare central space to host events for London Fashion Week - an invitation to the public that define these streets. The seats form steps which invite the visitor into the window, to mingle with the mannequins and play model for a moment.

WAREHOUSE

Tuesday 16th September- 6.00pm-7.00pm - As part of the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase, join Warehouse for an exclusive meet and greet with BBC Radio 1′s resident fashion savvy presenter Jameela Jamil. Head down to the store from 6.00pm for your chance meet her and pick up some style tips.

Friday 19th September- 4.30pm-9.00pm - Celebrating the Oxford Street Fashion Showcase in style, Warehouse 264 Oxford Street is opening up their exclusive VIP styling room for 10 lucky customers. This is your chance to win the ultimate in store styling experience with top stylist, Kate Rose Morris plus winners will walk away with their chosen outfit for free.
