Rock Vault launched on Saturday 15th September at London Fashion Week, celebrating the SS13 collections and unveiling the 'Rock Vault Dozen' from London's most innovative fine jewellery talent. BFC Rock Vault is sponsored by the International Palladium Board and curated by Stephen Webster.

On Friday 14h September, the first day of London Fashion Week SS13, Matches launched their in-store celebration of London-based designers. For Fashion Week, the Matches Marylebone store has been turned into a celebration of all things British ­ only showcasing British womenswear and menswear.

BFC Fash/On Film sponsored by River Island launched on Friday 14th September with a film screening and champagne reception at Somerset House. After speeches from Fash/On Film panel members Josie Roscop, Laura Bailey and Stephen Whelan, 9 films were screened including ‘It will not always be summer’ by Ryan Hope for River Island Design Forum by William Tempest and ‘TRACES’ by Abbie Stephens for Emilio de la Morena. This film was commissioned by River Island and the British Fashion Council for the Fash/On Film Mentoring Scheme.

On Thursday 13th September, The Green Carpet Challenge co-founders Livia Firth and Lucy Siegle in collaboration with American Express, launched Green Cut. Green Cut is a unique initiative which pairs eight seminal fashion designers with eight iconic British films to raise awareness of a sustainable approach to fashion design. Designers including Antonio Berardi, Jonathan Saunders and Roksanda Ilincic, created bespoke pieces which offered a contemporary take on a classic film. The collection is on show for the duration of London Fashion Week as part of The Exhibition, 14th - 18th September.

The shortlist of nominees for the British Fashion Awards 2012 was announced at a drinks reception at the Beaufort Bar at the Savoy Hotel on Monday 4th September.

The Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games showcased the most iconic faces and designers in British fashion on Sunday 12th August 2012. Over the course of the last year Kim Gavin, Creative Director of The Closing Ceremony and his team have worked together with the British Fashion Council and British Vogue to put British fashion at the heart of the Closing Ceremony in the ultimate British Fashion Catwalk Show - showcasing British fashion to the largest ever global audience.

On Thursday 2nd August, the Mayor of London and his promotional agency London & Partners hosted an evening in celebration of the British fashion industry, in association with the BFC and Harvey Nichols. The evening showcased the breadth and range of the fashion industry and its importance to the economy, with speeches from Caroline Rush (CEO, BFC), Dylan Jones (Editor, GQ), Paula Reed (Style Director, Grazia) and Munira Mirza (Deputy Mayor for Education & Culture).

On Monday 30th July, London woke up to see the capital's iconic statues adorned with bespoke headwear as part of Hatwalk for the London 2012 Festival. Hatwalk is a visual spectacular that celebrates the best of British millinery talent, commissioned by the Mayor of London, in partnership with BT, Grazia magazine, the British Fashion Council and the London 2012 Festival, and curated by Philip Treacy and Stephen Jones.

The London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony marked the start of the games on Friday 27th July. Three emerging fashion designers working in the East End of London, Christopher Shannon, Michael van der Ham and Nasir Mazhar, helped design costumes for key segments of the ceremony. BFC Ambassador for Emerging Talent, Sarah Mower, introduced the designers to Suttirat Larlab (Creative Director for Danny Boyle) and her team.
