This September, past and present Rock Vault designers will take part in Goldsmiths’ Fair, the premier international showcase for contemporary designer jewellery and silverware. The fair celebrates the best of British innovation and talent when it comes to goldsmithing and silversmithing. Visitors can buy directly from the maker or commission bespoke pieces to their own specification.
Rock Vault is the British Fashion Council’s (BFC) fine jewellery initiative curated by Stephen Webster MBE; this unique showcasing initiative was established by the BFC to nurture the best creative fine jewellery talent based in the UK. Likewise, Goldsmiths’ is known for putting a spotlight on emerging talent alongside more established designers and brands.
Curated by a panel of experts, every year Goldsmiths’ Fair features 150 designers and craftsmen who all work or come from independent workshops. This September current Rock Vault recipients Anna Jewsbury of COMPLETEDWORKS and Shimell and Madden will exhibit their new collections, as well as Rock Vault graduates Ana De Costa, Beth Gilmour, Hannah Martin, Jo Hayes Ward, Ornella Iannuzzi, and Tomasz Donocik.
Anna Jewsbury of COMPLETEDWORKS spoke to Goldsmiths’ about her involvement with Rock Vault and about showcasing at the fair this year:
‘Being part of Rock Vault for the past year has been an absolute privilege. It is not only the support and mentorship you receive from the British Fashion Council and judging panel but also the increased exposure that comes with being associated with such a prestigious initiative that has been invaluable to our growth.
Goldsmiths’ Fair seems to be one of those uncommon places where interesting conversations about fine jewellery and craftsmanship are taking place. And we’re incredibly excited to be part of it for the first time this year.’
The latest collections of this year’s Rock Vault recipients COMPLETEDWORKS, DAOU, Frances Wadsworth, Lily Kamper, Rachel Boston and Shimell and Madden will be on display as part of an installation at the London Fashion Week Designer Showrooms from 16th – 20th September in Brewer Street Car Park.
Goldsmiths’ Fair takes place at Goldsmiths’ Hall from Tuesday 27th September to Sunday 9th October.
